Features or notes about the quilt's appearance, materials, or construction:
Rated 4 (excellent) to 5 (outstanding) on HQPNJ's scale for visual effect. The extravagant use of border material, as well as the consistent use of the same material in the alternate squares, seems to indicate a quiltmaker with means to purchase sufficient yardage for her quilting needs. Even the stars are made of only six different materials. The sole use of scraps is in the Sixteen Patch blocks found on the corners of the quilt. The back is coarsely woven cotton. The quilt is a strong example of an early quilt in good condition.
