The pictorial chintz panel at the center of the quilt features two entwined long-necked birds within a floral wreath. This pre-printed panel known as Panel 11 is discussed in Merikay Waldvogel's article in Uncoverings 2013 entitled "Printed Panels for Chintz Quilts: Their Origin and Use" on pp. 118 and 124. This printed panel is unusual in that the background is brown.
