Possibly made by Mattie Carson, Mound City, Missouri. Hand written notes indicate the maker was Kit Carson's sister. HowAcquired: Donated to the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum by Debbie Lunsford of Oak Ridge, TN. Ownership/History: Thought to be made in Mound City, MO by Mattie Carson, Kit Carson's sister. Embroidered date reads "1896." Donated by Debbie Lunsford of Oak Ridge, TN. LocMade: Mound City///MO
