Blue and white star quilt, blue fabrics indigos, perhaps some cadet blue. Well used, faded and thin. Two of the original blocks have been replaced. Hand made by Mary Stanley who was from a pioneering family that homesteaded in Northeastern Colorado, near the town of Keota. Keota was once a thriving community, but now is a ghost town with only one small house. Both Mary and her granddaughter, Auriel Sandstead, (who donated the quilt) are well-known in Colorado quilting history. HowAcquired: Donated to the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum by Auriel Sandstead, the granddaughter of the maker. Ownership/History: Made by Mary Stanley.
