Describe anything about the history of the quilt that wasn't already recorded in a previous field:

One of the original 101 quilts donated by Eugenia Mitchell of Golden, CO, to start the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. This quilt is machine pieced of solid and geometric fabrics in red, blue, and white, with a white and navy print border and embroidery, crayola, and lace decorations. The batting is polyester. The binding is hand attached, created by folding the top folded over the backing, with mitered corners. The quilt is hand quilted around some pattern pieces, with cross hatch, columbine, scallop, and clam shells in the background and border, using white cotton thread. The stitching is even 5 to the inch. The backing is machine pieced off-white cotton. According to the maker, Eugenia Mitchell, this quilt was exhibited in Georgia at an International Quilt Festival in 1976 and won a prize. It was displayed at Foothills Art Center in Golden, CO, in 1976, and then it hung in Senator Tim Wirth's Washington, DC office for eighteen months. Ownership/History: Made by Eugenia Mitchell of Golden, CO for the U.S. Bicentennial. Originally displayed at the Foothills Art Center, Golden, CO, in 1980.
