One of the original 101 quilts donated by Eugenia Mitchell of Golden, CO, to start the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. This quilt is machine pieced of solid fabrics in red, tan, and green, with tan and green borders. The quilt is also embroidered. The batting is polyester. The binding is created by folding the top to the back, hand attached with mitered corners. The quilt is hand quilted with a fan pattern in the blocks and diamonds in the border, using white cotton thread. The stitching is even 5 to the inch. The backing is machine pieced off-white cotton muslin. Ownership/History: Made by Eugenia Mitchell of Golden, CO, from a design that came from an advertisement for a wall plaque. The quilt hung in Senator Tim Wirth's office in Washington, DC. LocMade: Golden///CO//USA
