This quilt, made by the founder of the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum, is machine pieced blocks of solid off-white fabric with redwork images for the Colorado Centennial. It has red sashing and a red border. The batting is polyester. The binding is the backing folded to the top and hand attached with straight corners. The quilt is hand quilted with crosshatching, cables, and other geometric patterns. The quilting stitches are even at 5 to the inch, done with white cotton/polyester thread. The backing is machine pieced cream cotton fabric. Embroidered in the front left corner in white thread is "Emb. Jan. Quilted Feb. 1984 Eugenia Mitchell." The designs in this quilt were copied from the Centennial Color Book published in Golden 1976-84. Two boxes of floss were used for the embroidery.
