This pictorial quilt is a celebration of all types of railroads in Colorado history. It has hand embroidered decorations with cotton thread, buttons, a bell, and braid. As part of the museum's "Quilts in Public Places" program, this quilt hung at the Caboose Hobbies store in Denver in 1996. Panel 1: RTD lightrail, Winter Park Ski Train, Pikes Peak Cog Rail Panel 2: Durango and Silverton Panel 3: Fort Collins trolley, Georgetown Loop, Harvey House Panel 4: Cumbres and Toltec Panel 5: Como Roundhouse, Engine #346, Moffat Tunnel HowAcquired: Donated to the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum by the makers. Ownership/History: Designed by Shirley Gardner. Made in 1994 by Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum volunteers in partnership with the Colorao Railroad Museum, to celebrate the history of Colorado railroads as part of the "Quilts in Public Places" project.
