One of the original 101 quilts donated by Eugenia Mitchell of Golden, CO, to start the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. This quilt is machine pieced and hand appliqued of solid and geometric fabrics in red and off-white with off-white sashing. The batting is polyester. The binding is folded over from the back with mitered corners. The quilt is hand quilted 1/4" inside appliques and sashing, and cross hatched in the background, using off-white cottong thread. The stitching is even 5 to the inch . The backing is pieced printed cotton/polyester fabric. Ownership/History: Made by Eugenia Mitchell to be included in the display of 20 of her quilts at the Foothills Art Center, Golden, CO, in 1980. The original domino quilt was designed in 1972 for the Denver Art Museum. This quilt hung in Representative Tim Wirth's office. LocMade: Golden/Jefferson//CO//United States
