One of the original 101 quilts donated by Eugenia Mitchell of Golden, CO, to start the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. This quilt is hand and machine pieced of solid and geometric fabrics in purple, green, and white, with lavendar sashing and lavendar and white borders. The quilt is also embroidered, and depicts 12 different flowers. The batting is polyester. The edges are Prairie Points in a lavendar print fabric attached by hand. The quilt is hand quilted with a grid pattern in the blocks and diamonds in the borders, using white cotton/polyester thread. The stitching is even 6 to the inch. The backing is machine pieced lavendar cotton fabric. Ownership/History: Made by Eugenia Mitchell of Golden, CO, from patterns for textile painting that appeared in the Denver Post newspaper.
