One of the original 101 quilts donated by Eugenia Mitchell of Golden, CO, to start the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. This quilt is hand pieced of solid, plaid, and striped fabrics in red, green, and black with cotton and wool embroidery. It has a wool batting. Quilting is by hand with black cotton thread. The stitches are between three to four per inch and uneven. The backing is pieced homespun and is handstitched. The binding is self-fabric with mitered and straight corners in green and black rayon and cotton fabrics. Maker unknown. Mended by Eugenia Mitchell. There is an embroidered signature "CE" in gold thread in featherstitch embroidery in the center of the quilt. Ownership/History: Maker unknown. Mended by Eugenia Mitchell.
