One of the original 101 quilts donated by Eugenia Mitchell of Golden, CO, to start the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. This yo-yo quilt top is hand pieced from solid, plaid, striped, checked, flowered, and geometric fabrics in blue. The yo-yos were made by two women friends as they traveled between Golden, CO, and St. Louis, MO. There is no batting, binding, quilting, or backing. Embroidered on the backing in white is "1971 Eugenia Mitchell." Ownership/History: Made by Eugenia Mitchell of Golden, CO, and Betty Thompson of Boulder, CO, on a trip between Golden and St. Louis, MO. Each woman contributed half of the yo-yos.
