This friendship signature quilt is machine pieced of solid, checked, geometric, and dotted fabric in blue and white, with blue and white sashing and borders. There are names embroidered in red in the blocks. HowAcquired: Donated to the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum by Marion Roth of Arvada, CO. Ownership/History: Made as a going-away gift for Sarah Frame Portis (Mrs. David), of Lake George, CO, when she moved to Jefferson, Park County, CO, to live with her son Eli Portis. It is unclear who made the blocks, as many of them include husband and wife signatures. LocMade: ///CO//USA
