One of the original 101 quilts donated by Eugenia Mitchell of Golden, CO, to start the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. This quilt is machine pieced from solid fabrics and plaid, checked, flowered, and geometric print fabrics in blue, white, and pink. The batting is flannel fabric. The binding is purchased white bias tape hand and machine attached with rounded corners. The quilt is hand quilted with geometric patterns, using white cotton thread. The stitches are even at 7 stitches per inch. The backing is machine pieced cotton muslin. Ownership/History: Made for Eugenia Mitchell's birthday on October 13, 1938 by her mother, Theodora Hartmeister, in Paulina, Iowa. LocMade: Paulina///IA//United States
