Describe anything about the history of the quilt that wasn't already recorded in a previous field:

One of the original 101 quilts donated by Eugenia Mitchell of Golden, CO, to start the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. This quilt is hand pieced from solid, plaid, striped, checked, flowered, and geometric fabrics in red, blue, and off-white. The batting is polyester. The binding is the top fabric folded to the back with mitered corners. The quilt is hand quilted at 1/4" inside the blocks and with clam shells and water lilies, using white cotton thread. The stitching is even 6 to 7 to the inch. Embroidered in a corner in white thread is "Arkansas Showflake Quilted by Terese & Rose Shultz." Ownership/History: Pieced and quilted c. 1940 by Myrtle Livings of Chicago, Illinois and Teresa and Mary Rose Shultz of Calhoun, Kentucky. Eventually came into the possession of Eugenia Mitchell, who added the border in 1977 and presumably embroidered the maker's mark. LocMade: Chicago///IL//USA
