One of the original 101 quilts donated by Eugenia Mitchell of Golden, CO, to start the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. This quilt is machine pieced of solid and floral fabrics in black, tan, and pink. The batting is wool. The binding is the backing folded to the front with mitered corners. The quilt is tied with pink wool yarn. The backing is machine pieced tan cotton and linen fabric. The fabrics were from garments owned by Eugenia Mitchell's mother and sisters. The backing is said to be nun's veiling from Scotland. The quilt was used for 30 winters and was never washed. It has a storage bag. Ownership/History: Made by Eugenia Mitchell in 1922 and used for 30 winters. It was never washed, but its storage bag was washed yearly. Eugenia made the quilt out of fabric from her mother's and sisters' garments. She claimed that the backing is made from nuns' veiling from Scotland. LocMade:
