Describe anything about the history of the quilt that wasn't already recorded in a previous field:
One of the original 101 quilts donated by Eugenia Mitchell of Golden, CO, to start the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. This quilt is hand and machine pieced of solid, plaid, checked, and geometric fabrics in red and blue, with a red and maroon border. The batting is polyester. The binding is the backing folded to the front and hand attached with mitered corners. The quilt is hand quilted around the pattern pieces and in the border with swag patterns. The quilting is uneven at 7 stitches to the inch, done with white cotton/polyester thread. The backing is machine pieced green and gold floral cotton. Ownership/History: Original maker unknown. Eugenia Mitchell purchased the quilt at a resale shop in Denver, CO for $40. She then dismantled it, reassembled it into two separate quilts, and sent this one to Teresa and Mary Rose Shultz for quilting. The second of the two quilts is PQ.1991.001.082 in the RMQM collection.
