One of the original 101 quilts donated by Eugenia Mitchell of Golden, CO, to start the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. This quilt is hand and machine pieced of solid and flowered fabrics in yellow and pink. The batting is a sheet blanket. The binding is purchased pink cotton bias tape with rounded corners. The quilt is hand quilted around the pattern pieces and with a floral motif in the bows and the corner blocks. The quilting is even at 5 to 6 stitches to the inch, using white cotton thread. The backing is pink cotton wholecloth. Ownership/History: Original maker unknown. Eugenia Mitchell purchased the quilt at a resale shop in Denver, CO for $40. She then dismantled it and reassembled it into two separate quilts. The second of the two quilts is PQ.1991.001.081 in the RMQM collection. Quilt top c. 1900. LocMade: unknown
