Describe anything about the history of the quilt that wasn't already recorded in a previous field:

One of the original 101 quilts donated by Eugenia Mitchell of Golden, CO, to start the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. This sampler quilt is an original design with a pictorial depiction of the Hiwan Homestead in Evergreen, CO, surrounded by sampler quilt blocks. RMQM founder Eugenia Mitchell designed and made this quilt and reportedly used it to teach others to quilt. She used the sampler blocks as the basis for the lessons. This quilt, one of several in the collection, is an exceptional example of the folk art of Eugenia Mitchell. Ownership/History: Eugenia Mitchell sat outside on the stone benches, drew pictures of the Hiwan Homestead museum, and interpreted her drawings in fabric. Made for display at the Hiwan Homestead in Evergreen, CO, at its centennial in 1976. It was on display there for a year. The quilt received the Best of Show award at the Cinderalla City (shopping center in Englewood, CO) quilt show in 1979. LocMade: Golden//CO///USA
