This very dynamic quilt top is machine pieced of solid fabric in red and white, with red and white borders. It was made by three women of the Bedell family of rural Pennsylvania. The Bedell family built a house on Peters Creek in 1856 and had a feed supply business and a whiskey distillery. This quilt has feedsack fabrics for backing. HowAcquired: Donated to the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum by Anna Shuck, who received it as a gift. Ownership/History: Made by three members of the Bedell family--Fanny Lorraine Bedell, Margaret Bedell, and Arminda Vincina Bedell of rural Pennsylvania. LocMade: ///PA//United States
