This Nine Patch Doll Quilt was made by Carrie Effa McCauley (Faye) who was born in 1875. She made it for one of her granddaughters, who later died of polio. HowAcquired: Donated to the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum by Sandra Dallas, the maker's granddaughter. Ownership/History: Made in 1940 by Carey Effa McCauley ("Faye") for her granddaughter, Donna Kay Dallas, who died of polio in 1948. The quilt was passed to Donna's sister, Sandra Dallas, who later donated it to the museum. LocMade: Harveyville///KS//USA
