Tell the story of how the quilt was obtained:
Although Mrs. Boehme had sewed clothing and embroidered for years, this Honeymoon Album was her first quilt project. She began it after remarrying at age sixty-two and following trips and adventures with her new husband. She began the quilt after attending a local community college quilting class and getting a book on appliqued album quilts. She began with the sixteen album motifs shown by the book's author, but ventured out on her own to design and construct the remaining twenty-six.
Describe anything about the history of the quilt that wasn't already recorded in a previous field:
Based on Mrs. Boehme's experience as a beginning quilter who undertook a major quilt project, she recommends that other beginners join a bee and get some expert advice. "I failed to do this," she notes, "and subsequently the quilting and applique stitching leave much to be desired. A quilt book is good for learning, but you need some expert criticism along the way."
