Tell the story of how the quilt was obtained:
Native Canadian Liz Axford writes that she has "always drawn, painted, created. I began sewing in a required home ec[onomics] class at age fourteen, quickly becoming obsessed and staying up all night to sew." She made her first quilt at age nineteen (a Nine Patch). Now when she quilts, Liz Axford says "I feel I'm free of the outside world--it's a totally indulgent activity--I love to manipulate color & forms; I hope to find myself through this creation."
