The donor of this quilt was Mary Louise Seggerman DePuy of Austin, Texas. She stated that the quilt was made either by her great grandmother Cinthia Arnold in DeMotte, Indiana or by her grandmother Laura Bell Arnold (1870-1949) Pence in Midland, Texas, or most likely by both women. The donor inherited the quilt from her mother Floy Arnold Pence (1896-1978) and aunt Lydia Arnold Pence Dixon (1898-?).

Describe anything about the history of the quilt that wasn't already recorded in a previous field:

This quilt is one of approximately forty-two quilts that the Texas Memorial Museum (TMM) at the University of Texas at Austin transferred to the University’s Center for American History (CAH) in April 2003 as part of TMM’s transfer of selected material culture objects from its collections to CAH and other research facilities on the UT-Austin campus. These TMM quilts are now part of CAH’s Winedale Quilt Collection. Information relating to each quilt’s provenance is based on documentation recorded by TMM staff at the time of acquisition, which began in the early 1940s and continued until 2003. Mrs. Dupuy donated this quilt to the Texas Memorial Museum on December 16, 1986. The donor of this quilt also donated three other quilts at the same time: see TMM2542-1, TMM2542-2, and TMM2542-3.
