Describe any favorite patterns, tools, etc. used by the quiltmaker:

All work was done by hand. She made quilts in many different styles and many embroidered blocks. She loved to crochet, could look at a pattern in Herschner's Craft Book and crochet it, and was a very talented seamstress. She made her own clothing and even Barbie clothes for the owner's doll. She once made a dog coat from a pattern made by draping newspaper over the dog. She used salt shakers and other items as pattern weights to hold paper patterns and cut out cloth.

Describe any unique traditions, quilting related customs, beliefs, songs or rhymes used by the quiltmaker:

Maker gave a quilt to both her granddaughter (owner) and her new husband as wedding gifts. The owner's quilt was state birds done in "liquid embroidery"; the husband's quilt was antique cars done the same way.
