The owner inherited the quilt from her mother, who was the daughter of the maker.

This quilt was used by Neely Baker, the quiltmaker, until 1960. Her daughter, the owner's mother, took the quilt to Porterville, CA and kept it in a trunk. The quilt was then given to the owner in 1990.
