I hope you can either research this quilt yourself or find someone interested in history who can undertake the research. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Copy of page 95 from New Jersey Quilts, 1777-1950 which shows a signature quilt resembling this quilt. "WILD GOOSE VARIATION, pieced 1843-1847, quilted 1876. 92" x 92". Made in Mullica Hill, Gloucester County, New Jersey. This lovely example of a single design signature quilt is signed with many stamps and signatures of both men and women. A pen and ink sketch in the center has the following inscription "For Miss Sarah M. Thomas 1843 ___on her birthday. Designed by F. T. Dunlops 1876." This inscription with the two different dates and the machine stitching on the quilt's edge suggest it was quilted in 1876, having been pieced much earlier. The well preserved colors, are remarkable indicating how bright the colors of the period really were. The owner of the quilt, Beryl Skinner, is the great-granddaughter of the initial recipient and can trace many family names among the quilt's signatures."
