Quilt pattern is thought to be original - poinsettia variety with coxcomb & currants in the border. Pattern was found in Brackman's applique book. Close to #'s 16.61,16.62,16.68,16.69. Interestingly, Ruth Finley called the 16.6 Poinsettia (page 133 text, plate 73) as a quilt circa 1850's Ohio, Quilt was found in the household of Fanny duvall in Bellaire, Ohio. It was wrapped in paper and a note said "Designed and made by Uncle John"
