Qwner did the piecing, taught to sew by mother, traveled to Scotland this year., Quilted by lamplight by owner's grandmother "with old #40 quilting thread- didn't have nice quilting thread they have today, that's why the stitches are so large."First quilt top ever pieced, believes mother gfave her needle and thread to keep her occupied as a girl. (Has the "mixed-up" look of a Scotch Irish quilt. FV)
