I come from a family of sewers, both my grandmothers were seamstresses, however my mother was the only quilter. So while my baby took naps I read books on how to quilt and would call my mom at work and she would guide me along by phone. As the children entered school, I then joined a quilt guild with my mom and that is when I learned how to bind quilts, applique and many other things. I am now 48 and my hobby is making quilts - large to small, It doesn't matter.
