When Dorothy (mother) passed away, the family gave it to Dorothy Anne because Dorothy had made the effort to complete the top which was made in 1942-1945

Dorothy Anne coordinated the completion of the quilt in 2006; it took 4-5 months to complete: Pat, Kate, and Becca but the 2 borders, backing on; Emma quilted it and Pat, Kate, and Becca put on the binding; it cost $700-$800 to finish the quilt

Details about why the quilt was made:
It was a project for Dorothy (daughter-in-law) to work on with Anna (her mother-in-law); It was supposed to be a gift for an unknown family member; the top was put together between 1942-1945 while Dorothy Ellen Beatty's husband (William A Salitrik) was in the Army during World War II and put into a cedar chest for future completion.
