The quilt belonged to Sir Percy Fitzpatrick family, living in a farming area a few kilometers from Port Elizabeth. Sir Percy was world-renowned for his book Jock of the Bushveld, written in 1907. He was born in Kingwilliam's Town in 1862, educated at St. Aiden's College, Grahamstown. He was Knighted in 1902. He died at his farm AMANZI, Uitenhage district in 1931.
