30.5 One block is acetate knit but in keeping with the period fabrics. Binding is 1930's reproduction fabric. Hexagons form tumbling block pattern.

Oral History: Lorraine Worden, my mother-in-law, said that Granny was making the topper on her way out to CA from KS. They were migrant workers. She never finished the topper.

She used flour sack for dresses and shirts, when they grew our of them, she made a quilt out of them. She used any available material.

She was a very tough and strict woman. She was all about family. She repurposed clothes and made quilts for family.

She loved to travel and she read all the historical markers along her way. She had a VW bug that was repurposed with a bed and a cooking area for her travelling.

In later years (1974) she would make lap quilts for the great grandkids and she bought flanel. She had a pair of Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls for her great grandkids. She did cleaning and repair of the high school football uniforms for many years.
