Print on Feedsack visible in some areas of quilt. Museum information says a block was removed by the family to copy it, and the museum added plain fabric to fill space. Top is incomplete with additional blocks missing on edges.

The "lion" printed on feed sack is said to represent Lee behind bars awaiting trial for the Mountain Meadow massacre.

Any other notes or stories about the quilt maker:

Several wives and many children... No mention of Lee quilting while in prison. He taught reading and he gardened while in prison. Family lore says a block was removed so that the family could copy the pattern.
