Majority of patchwork pieces are black satin ribbon, which forms a dark background. Pineapple designs are made of green, light blue, royal blue, tan, gold and green silks and taffetas. Backed with a light blue cotton twill. Backing turned over the front edge of the quilt and tacked down with a different color embroidery thread in a herringbone stitch. All stitching is hand-sewn.
