With support from a fellowship from the International Quilt Study Center and in-kind support from the Michigan State University Museum, I am now in South Africa visiting museums and archives and talking to quilt historians to further the scholarship on the history of quiltmaking in this country. While I am here I will also be investigating the possibilities of eventually uploading data on South African quilts into the Quilt Index.  I’ll be posting updates along the way.
