"The collection of the Museum Lötschentaler comprises about 6,000 items with 3,200 inventory numbers. In addition to three-dimensional objects, the museum also collects printed materials (posters, postcards, publications, etc.) as well as photos and movies.

The collection policy is documented in a written collection concept. As the main collections are here: History and folklore of the valley, and party everyday aesthetics, tradition and social change.

Specific collection areas are: farming and agriculture, mountaineering and tourism, housing and households, clothing, costume and textile manufacture, trade, crafts and folk art, traditions (masks, "Lord Grenadiers"), faith and worship (vestments, Volksreligiösität), regional iconography (paintings , advertising, posters)."
