Do I retain copyright on the images my project/collection adds to the Quilt Index?

Yes. Contributors to the Quilt Index retain copyright to their contributions of data (both text and images), and agree to permanently license these contributions to the Quilt Index to display on the website for educational purposes. The Quilt Index will not grant permission for outside use of your materials.

What happens if someone contacts the Quilt Index about using an image of a quilt from my project/collection?

If the QI receives an inquiry about using an image of your quilt we will forward the request to you. It is up to you to decide if you would like to grant permission and if you will charge a fee. What happens if someone suggests an edit to one of my quilt records?

The Quilt Index contributors manage and control their own data records. If the Quilt Index receives a suggestion to change a record, we will forward the suggestion to you. If you decide it is an appropriate change, you can then edit the record. The KORA training manual (link) includes instructions on how to edit your records.

Can I add additional quilts to the Quilt Index?

Can I add information or make changes to one of my quilt records?

Yes. As a Quilt Index contributor, you will always be able to edit your records. As a contributor, you manage your own records and are able to make changes to your records as needed. The KORA training manual includes instructions on how to edit your records.

Can I add a detail image of one of my quilts?

Yes. The KORA training manual includes instructions on adding images.

Can I replace a quilt image?

Yes. The KORA training manual includes instructions on how to replace images.
