German Textil Museum
From QuiltIndex
The main attraction in Krefeld, near Duisburg, is the German Textile Museum (Deutsches Textilmuseum). This museum represents Krefeld’s position as a centre for silk fabric production since the 17th century. The museum covers this history, as well as the history of the textile industry in Germany as a whole. In its collections are over 20,000 examples of textiles and other items which date from the earliest times to the present. The museum is open most days and has a small entrance fee.
