The museum also houses a Folk Handicrafts Shop filled with clothing, textile, textile equipment, and some other items associated with various ethnic minorities in China. It is run by Song Yi Wu, a former "keeper" (curator and exhibition manager) of the museum who is married to a scholar of ethnic minorities and the two of them travel extensively to villages to collect materials for the shop.
